Nova, almost ready to fly from the nest
A little fresh walk in the field – together with Nova!
It has been a wonderful, wild, and truly special task to help Nova stop being a tame bird and rehabilitate her into living as a proper jackdaw in the wild. I was over the moon when she was accepted by the local jackdaw flock, and I witnessed how the much larger rooks began helping her and protecting her whenever birds of prey appeared over the fields.
It was incredibly surreal to see and experience up close. <3
I miss her every day, and I hope she comes home soon to say hello.
